About Us

OUR HISTORY

Men for H.O.P.E was founded by Britton Thomas III and his wife, Felicia Thomas, in March 2011. They moved from Newark, NJ, and began addressing key social issues in Trenton, NJ such as gang violence, truancy, and poverty. We started with twelve students who were passionate about making a difference. These students expressed their community concerns and career interests to us; we utilized their feedback to produce engaging trips and activities that piqued their interest. They all graduated from high school and we now work with up to fifty to sixty students per year.

Seeing our participants being so ambitious in these leadership roles just reiterated the importance of mentorship and positive reinforcement. We listened and employed what we learned to expand our reach and enrich our curriculum over the years.
